Seit kurzem gibt es auch im afrikanischen Mali einen «Musicstar». Die Fernsehshow funktioniert ähnlich wie in Europa. Und doch ganz anders.

Was bedeutet dir Musik? I love the way that music can carry me away from the petty worries in my life and transport me into a realm where I can listen, feel and communicate soul to soul.
Kannst du von deiner Musik leben? Only on a philosophical level! I'll keep the day job!
Was verdienst du im Monat? Not enough for you to love me for the money!
Was ist dein Lieblingsmusikstück? At the moment "Todya Tese" by Zivanai.
Welche lokalen Musiker findest du am besten? Chiwoniso Maraire.
Wofür ist deine Stadt bekannt? Breath-taking hilltop views from Harare Kopje and lately also the corruption.
Welchen internationalen Musiker würdest du buchen? George Clinton and the Parliament Funk.
Wie sieht dein Sound-Equipment aus? A guitar a mic and a crew that is eager to rock!
Tanzen Leute zu deiner Musik? Yep!
Wie oft gehst du in Clubs/Konzerte? At least once a week.
Was bedeutet dir das Internet? Great place for networking and to be heard!
Wie sieht deine Zukunft aus? I'll live for and from my Music, I'll have a loving family, and I'll teach my African brothers and sisters to come back home!
Welchen Grund gibt es, in deine Stadt zu ziehen? The place is a mess! The chaos is a chance to build and start a new life in all fields.
Was machst du für deine Stadt? I'm leading a cultural project called Young Africa Against Aids and HIV

Vive le blues africain

Dakar/Zurich/Helsinki, 7 septembre 2007. Encore une fois, plein de gens ont répondu à l'appel de Motherland, cette fois-ci pour une nuit dédicacée au Sénégal. Avec le blues et le folk africain de Mansour, Douane et Isma. Et avec les choix noirs de Marianne Berna et Lady Baba. Merci à tout le monde, sur le plateau, derrière le tourne-disque, sur la piste. See you very soon in Harare (Zimbabwe).
